About AsoVillaPost

AsoVillaPost is an independent news service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for the Nigerian government, the Presidency or the State House (Aso Villa).

The name refers to Abuja, Nigeria's capital, and the national conversation that centres on it. It does not mean we have any connection to the Presidency or to any government body. We receive no government funding and take no instructions from any government, party or politician.

AsoVillaPost curates news from Nigeria and the rest of the world: politics, business, sports and events. We are rarely the first to report a story. Our aim is to be the place where you can check whether a story is real and confirmed.

What we do

• We follow credible Nigerian and international news organisations and official sources.
• We group reports about the same event and count how many independent sources confirm it. How we verify.
• An editor reads the sources and approves every story before it appears. We write short summaries in our own words and link to the original reports.
• We do not host comments or reader submissions.
